There is a new regulation for textiles imported from Taiwan.

A few days ago, Taiwan's relevant departments imposed compulsory inspection systems on textile products that were manufactured, sold, or imported into the Taiwan region in different categories. The staff of the District Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded various export textile and garment enterprises in our district to attach importance to the standards, keep abreast of the standards, strictly control the quality and avoid unnecessary economic losses.

Before and after the Bureau of Standards Inspection (BSMI) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan began to implement mandatory inspection systems for textile products manufactured, sold or imported into Taiwan in different categories. Including infants and young children wearing clothing and accessories (in 24 months or less than 86cm in height) on July 1, 2011, towels, sweaters, ready-to-wear, swimwear, underwear, hosiery, bedding, etc. The implementation date is January 1, 2012.

After the implementation of this system, textiles imported to Taiwan must meet a number of requirements to pass the mandatory inspection system to enter the Taiwan market, including compliance with the "CNS15290 textile safety norms (general requirements)", and on the product, tag or other packaging materials Comes with a product inspection mark. CNS15290 main test items are: free formaldehyde, AZO, lead content, cadmium content, organic tin and so on. In addition, Taiwan authorities have banned retailers from selling textiles that do not have product inspection marks attached.

The District Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminds enterprises to first understand and master this system and related inspection standards in a timely manner. Second, to strengthen the procurement management of raw materials for products, establish a strict product qualification guarantee and traceability system; third is to further strengthen the control of the intrinsic quality of products. Requirement to improve self-inspection and self-control capabilities to avoid economic losses due to inconsistent product quality requirements.
