The Indonesian Association of Textile Manufacturers, represented by Sudarza, recently stated in Jakarta that an increasing number of Chinese textile and garment companies are choosing Indonesia as their primary production base. In the Garachi area alone, approximately 60 Chinese entrepreneurs have already secured around 200 hectares of land for textile and garment manufacturing facilities.

According to Sudarza, each Chinese investor has acquired roughly 3 hectares of land and has invested over $100 million in these projects. The products manufactured in these facilities are primarily intended for export, with some even being shipped back to China. This trend highlights the growing integration between the Chinese and Indonesian textile industries.

Sudarza also mentioned that the construction of textile and garment factories by Chinese investors in Garachi is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Once fully operational, these facilities are projected to create around 100,000 jobs, marking a 10% increase compared to the previous year. This development is seen as a significant boost to local employment and economic growth. With continued investment from Chinese companies, Indonesia is positioning itself as a key player in the global textile supply chain.
