In the W1 Hall, a section is elegantly designed with Apennine-style architecture, towering columns, and solemn aesthetics that evoke the feeling of walking along the streets of Rome. This is where Zhejiang Noah Textile Co., Ltd. launched its MDV brand exhibition at this year’s Home Textiles Show.
At 10 a.m., Zhejiang Noah Textile Co., Ltd. held a press conference in Hall W1, officially announcing the entry of the Italian home textile brand MDV into the Chinese market. Osvaldo Terzi, head of MDV in Italy, stated that China has always been a key market they aimed to enter. This collaboration with Noah, he said, was the best opportunity for them to establish themselves in China. Jin Weijun, general manager of Zhejiang Noah Textile Co., Ltd., added, “Being a partner is far stronger than going it alone. MDV, as a well-established brand, is exactly the ideal partner we were looking for.â€
The MDV display area spans 180 square meters. Jin Weijun mentioned, “I originally applied for 360 square meters, but ended up with a tight booth—only half the space.†The products on display include bedding and curtains, all designed by the Italian MDV studio and then manufactured in China. In addition, there is another section dedicated to showcasing imported home textile products from Italy.
When asked why MDV chose to settle in China, Osvaldo Terzi explained that China represents a major hope for global economic growth and a huge market for home textiles. “Naturally, MDV couldn’t miss this opportunity,†he said. He also noted that the perception that “Made in China means low quality†is becoming outdated. “The quality of Chinese manufacturing is improving rapidly, and we’ve always benefited from the price advantage here.â€
Jin Weijun revealed that the two companies formally partnered in September last year and launched their products in January this year. They opted for a high-end positioning. As he pointed to the curtains behind him, he said, “At first glance, these products look very European. Our goal is to bring this elegance and fashion to Chinese consumers.â€
This partnership marks a significant step forward for both brands, blending Italian design with Chinese production capabilities, and setting the stage for future growth in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.
