The standard comprehensively regulates the safety performance of textile products for infants and children and will help manufacturers to improve product safety and quality and protect the health and safety of infants and children. The standard will be formally implemented on June 1, 2016.

The standard further improves the safety requirements of textile products for infants and children on the basis of the original safety standards for textile products: In terms of chemical safety requirements, six kinds of plasticizers and two kinds of heavy metals such as lead and cadmium have been added. In terms of mechanical safety, detailed regulations are provided for children's clothing, such as head and neck, shoulders, waist, and other parts of the string, requiring infants and children under the age of 7 clothing no headbands and necks are allowed to exist any string; standard is also made for textile accessories The regulations require that attachments have a certain tensile strength and should not have sharp tips and edges. In addition, the standard also increases the combustion performance requirements.

Here, the Hainan Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminds Hainan infants and children's textile product production and import and export companies to learn and master the specific requirements of the above standards in a timely manner. At the same time, the import companies must also communicate the standards requirements to suppliers for the production enterprises. Choose qualified surface materials and design suitable models to organize production. At the same time, relevant inspection and quarantine agencies should also strengthen the standard of study and training, continuously improve the ability and level of inspection supervision, and protect the quality and safety of textile products imported and exported to infants and children.
